Jack Johnson - You and Your Heart

Not the most exciting video, but I am caught by the phrase, "Cause you and your heart shouldn't feel so far apart"... finding passions that unite our hearts... I like the theme of this...

John Mayer - Heartbreak Warfare

I know that he's a bit controversial, and I can't figure out what he is really doing with the Wah-wah, but I like the song... frankly, I like quite a few of his songs... I think that this video is so much more effective in black and white... the song is about the pains of love, and color just doesn't communicate that as well...

Why the Beatles are the greatest rock band ever #5: Album Covers

I came to the conclusion that it has been a year and a half since I have made a Beatles posting about why they were the greatest band ever... reason number 6 (in no particular order) is that they revolutionized album covers. Prior to the Beatles, album covers were basically boring and cheesy pictures of singers leaning over fences, smiling into the camera, or posed with other ridiculous and mind numbing images. After the Beatles, everything changed. We may look at what they did without thought of history and think that it they are not that exciting, but history shows that exciting album covers started right here with the Beatles (even some got SO out there that they had to take them off of the shelves, i.e. The Butcher Baby cover)... here are a few of the greats.

Fantastic Baseball play

I love this...

Didi Benami followed the other American Idol cast offs onto the Ellen show last week performing 'Terrified'... which is the style she should have ridden to stay on the show... even though it is pitchy in a few places, this is a nice performance...

Pictures of Spring 2010

I would have never imagined leasing (renting) a car, but that was how the numbers added up...

Seda's Easter Egg Hunt...

Seda had never experienced an Easter Egg Hunt... (I actually hate to call it an Easter Egg Hunt, but so be it..)... anyway, we had fun hiding and finding eggs in the yard... as a side note, the dress she is wearing was purchased by my mother in 1969!

God moves in a mysterious way...

William Cowper (pronounced 'cooper') attempted suicide 2 or 3 times, was committed to an asylum, and yet still penned this gem... these words are the kind of darkness and light that hold me together...

God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea
And rides upon the storm.

Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sovereign will.

Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.

His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.

Blind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.
